(18**-18**) Lieutenant in the 73rd Regiment at the Cape and amateur actor in the 1850s. Popular because of his "inimitable acting and self-possession" ([[F.C.L. Bosman|Bosman]], 1928, p.404), he had major roles in most of the pieces put on by the [[Officers of the Garrison]] in 1852-3. These include ''[[The Illustrious Stranger, or Married and Buried]]'', ''[[Bombastes Furioso]]'' and ''[[Did you ever send your wife to Camberwell?]]'' in 1853.
