Quartermaine's Terms by British playwright Simon Gray (1936-2008). Quartermaine, a bewildered professor at a school that teaches English to foreigners, has difficulty relating to his students and fellow teachers. First produced in England in 19**. .

Performance history in South Africa

Produced in South Africa by Pieter Toerien by arrangement with Michael Cordon and Herbert de Leon Ltd during 1981-2, directed by Nikolas Simmonds and featuring Richard Haines, Liz Staunton, Yvonne Banning, Bobby Heaney, Arthur Hall, Wilson Dunster, Kenneth Baker. Set designed by Patti Slavin, lighting designed by Jannie Swanepoel, costumes by Noreen Sterling.
