A comedy play by the Swiss writer Friedrich Dürrenmatt, written in 1968 and published in 1969. It is a free adaptation of August Strindberg's The Dance of Death, using Strindberg's characters.

Performance history in South Africa

Presented by CAPAB Drama's Theatre Laboratory at the Hofmeyr Theatre in 1971. Dürrenmatt's alternative working title for the play, Strindberg Without Tears, was used for this production. Nicholas Wright directed, the cast were Michael Atkinson, Marika Mann and John Whiteley. Designed by Raimond Schoop, assisted by Penny Simpson. Musical arrangements by Michael Tuffin, dance supervised by Jennifer Craig.
