Biography
He has been married a few times, among others to the theatre theorist and historian Eunice Reynecke (Eunice Fourie).
Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance
He worked as literary advisor for PACT and later for the ATKV in its various theatre projects. He later resigned to become a full-time writer, settling in the Eastern Free State to live the life of a hermit, and working on his manuscripts.
During his sojourn at PACT, he was in charge of the PACT library and wrote and translated plays for production. Among them his play Conspiracy (1976), Afrikaans translations of inter alia The Miracle Worker (as Die Wonderwerk), Boeing-Boeing, L'Avare (as Die Vrek), A Month in the Country (as 'n Maand op die Platteland), Fadren, Happy Birthday (as Kat in die Donker), Crime on Goat Island (as Misdaad op Bokeiland, 1976). He also wrote a play called Intimate Relations, based on Les Parents Terribles by Cocteau.
Most of his completed work dates from the 1970s, and he has apparently not completed, nor had a play performed, since that time.
