Biography

Born in Cape Town circa 1937, he grew up in Bishop Lavis


Contribution to South African theatre, film, media and performance

As teacher

He was a lecturer of music and drama and former and a founding member of SAADYT

Administrative contributions

Organiser of the Student Drama, Grahamstown Festival (?* 199*-200*), Drama Manager of CAPAB, Director of the Tulbagh Festival, Executive Director of the Western Cape Theatre Company (2004-).

As adjudicator

In 1994 he was one of the judges for the Amstel Playwright of the Year Award, Judge for ATKV Tienertoneel, the Judge for the Nagtegaalprys for drama (2003, 2004).

As performer

In 2004 he was awarded the Western Cape Arts and Cultural Award for contributions to theatre.

He was nominated for a Standard Bank Ovation Award at the National Arts Festival in 2016.
