Peter Larlham (19**-) [1]. Actor, director, designer, university lecturer, writer.

Biography

Peter studied drama at the University of Natal, Durban, did post-graduate work at New York University’s Tisch School fo the Arts.

He was an actor for PACT (appearing in prouctions of An Inspector Calls, [[Hadrian the Seventh]], appointed as theatre technician and taught design and acting at the University of Natal, Durban, for whom he directed the Birds in 1973. He acted in a production of the Magistrate in Durban in the late 1990s.

Emigrated to USA in 19** and became professor of Drama at University of California (San Diego) ***

His thesis, published as Black Theater, Dance, and Ritual in South Africa, is a seminal work in South African performance studies.

He is married to Margaret Larlham, choreographer and movement lecturer.
