Peter Cartwright (1935–2013) [1] was a South African-born British actor who made hundreds of appearances in television, film and on radio and worked extensively in the theatre, both in the provinces and London's West End.

Biography

Cartwright was born in Krugersdorp, Gauteng, South Africa.

Youth

Went to school at St. Andrew's College in Grahamstown.

Training

Went to Britain in 1959 and studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) [2] in London.

Career

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

Worked with PACT. Performed in The Misanthrope (as “Clitandre”), Hamlet (as “Rosencrantz”) and in Private Lives (as “Victor”).
