Studied at the University of Potchefstroom for CHE , obtaining a doctorate on the directing principles of Stanislavski, which has been quite widely used by Afrikaans drama students voer the years. Taught drama at the Drama Department at the University of Potchefstroom for CHE for 35 years, till its closure in 198*. Then became a freelance director, adaptor and playwright. Among his works were an adaptation of Daleen Matthee's popular novel Kringe in ’n bos, a production of Amadeus for PACOFS and a widely used translations of popular plays such as Boeing-Boeing, Ray Cooney's I Love my Wife, .
