An iconic South African character, the raconteur of a series of famous stories about the Great Marico area of the Transvaal, created by journalist, writer and playwright Herman Charles Bosman. The character has featured in a few plays and especially in the many one-man performances over the years by a variety of performers, including Percy Sieff, Patrick Mynhardt, David Muller and Paul Luckhoff.
