Occupations is a stage play by English dramatist Trevor Griffiths [1] (born 1935) about the Italian Communist Antonio Gramsci and the Fiat factory occupations of 1920s Italy. An intelligent but painful examination of human beings under the capitalist system.

First produced at the Stables Theatre in Manchester in 1970.

Performance history in South Africa

1975: Directed by visiting American director Walter Donohue at The Space (Cape Town) from 16 April 1975 with Wilson Dunster (Best Actor Award), Yvonne Bryceland, Grethe-Maria Fox, Pietro Nolte, Jonathan Sherwood, Percy Sieff, Len Sparrow-Hawk and Harry Victor/Stan Wrigley. Design by Bee Berman, lighting by Brian Astbury and stage management by Biddy Edelberg.
