Norm and Ahmed is a play by Alex Buzo (1944-2006)[1]

The original text

A middle aged an Australian bigot and war veteran, Norm, has an encounter with a Pakistani student Ahmed, at a bus stop one night. First performed at the Old Tote Theatre, Sydney, on 9 April, 1968.

Translations and adaptations

The play was adapted as a short feature film in 1988[].

Performance history in South Africa

1977: Produced in South Africa in September by the Baxter Theatre, directed by Henry Goodman, featuring Ronald France ("Norm") and John Ramsdale ("Ahmed").
