Noël Roos (195*-). Actor, director, teacher and drama lecturer.

Biography

Youth

Training

Studied at the Drama Department of the University of Rhodes. He returned to Rhodes to do a post-graduate course in drama in the late 1970s.


Career

He taught at Graaff-Reinet and Cape Town before joining PACT as an actor. Appointed by the University of Stellenbosch Drama Department (198*-199*), to teach English speech, voice and acting.

He left Stellenbosch and University teaching in 199*, to become a language teacher in the East.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

Noël acted in a number of productions by the Rhodes University Drama Department including Take Root or Die (1966), Twelfth Night (1967), a 1969 production of Putsonderwater, Arthur Clarke's play Threshold, Don Maclennan's A Winter Vacation (1969), As You Like It (1977) by
