Thirty six years after the opening of the original Space Theatre in 1972, with the encouragement of its founding members and in line with City Council’s Inner City Development programme, the a new "Space Theatre" opened its doors at the end of 2008 as the or NewSpace Theatre, at the same address.
While the building is owned by Indigo Properties, the theatre was managed by producer Colin Law and his Avro Asia Events Specialists company during 2009. By the beginning of 2010 however the company was in financial difficulties.
