Biography

Training

He studied Drama at the University of Cape Town.

Career

He joined CAPAB in 1976 where he acted in both English and Afrikaans plays. He moved to Johannesburg in 1982.


Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

He has appeared in Hamlet, Much Ado about Nothing, Twelfth Night and Macbeth for CAPAB, Romeo and Juliet for the Market, Julius Caesar for PACOFS, A Comedy of Errors and The Taming of the Shrew for PACT. He starred in Hay Fever (CAPAB), in In Praise of Rattigan together with Rex Garner, Jonathan Rands and Fiona Ramsay with direction by Rex Garner in 1984. He starred in William M. Hoffman’s As Is which was directed by Janice Honeyman and in Miscarriage of Murder in 1986. Alex Gal in Rough Crossing, 1987-88. A Trinity of Two, 1989, Single Spies, 1990. He starred in PACT’s annual pantomime Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at the Alexander Theatre in 1991. He payed Boolie Werthan in Driving Miss Daisy at the Baxter Theatre, 1991.

While with CAPAB he won a Three Leaf Award as Best Student and was nominated for his part in Shaw's Arms and the Man
