Napoleon Bonaparte, Eerste Konsul ("Napoleon Bonaparte, first consul") is a Dutch drama in five acts by H.J. Schimmel (Hendrik Jan Schimmel, 1823-1906)[1].

The original text

Written in 1851 and published by Loman & Reudler, 1851 and in Volume 1, and later in Schimmel's Dramatische Poëzy by Loman & Verster.

However Schimmel only give Peters the rights to perform the play in 1866 at the Amsterdamsche Stadsschouwburg .

Performance history in South Africa

1907: Performed in Dutch as Napoleon Bonaparte, Eerste Konsul by Ons Spreekuur in Stellenbosch, some time in August.
