(“Goodnight, General”) by Reza de Wet. A pacifist play set in the Anglo-Boer War and relating the story of a woman avenging herself on her dying husband, the General, whom she holds responsible for the death by suffocation of her son. First produced by PACOFS under the direction of ** (1988?). Published in Vrystaat Trilogie [“Free State Trilogy”] in 1991 (HAUM-Literêr) In 2004 she wrote Breathing In, using very much the same situation be refocusing the issues.
