NAF occurs as an acronym related to South African theatre in two instances.

The National Arts Festival, Grahamstown

The acronym has been used for the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown, the oldest national arts festival in the country, from the mid 1980s. However, the festival is most commonly referred to as the Grahamstown Festival

See Grahamstown Festival

The Northern Arts Festival

A somewhat opportunist use of the same NAF acronym by a new community festival founded in Nelson Mandela Bay by Billy Paulson. This NAF was established during 2007 with the stated objective of "celebrating the heritage and culture of, Nelson Mandela Bay, especially the Northern Area and bridging the divide between community development and the arts".
