The Winners is a feature film by Emil Nofal (1926-1986).

The film

A sports-oriented drama film set in South Africa, telling of a former Olympic marathon champion who pushes his sons to be as successful in competition as he was and emphasizes victory above all else.

Written and produced by Emil Nofal and directed by Roy Sargeantand Nofal, Emil Nofal Films, with music by Robin Netcher, cinematography by Vincent G. Cox. film editing by David de Beyer and Peter Henkel. The cast included Joe Stewardson, Madeleine Usher, Tony Jay, Marié du Toit, Richard Loring, Diane Ridler, John Higgins, Ken Leach, Gregorio Fiasconaro, Ian Yule, Jenny Meyer, Clive Scott, Barbara Kinghorn, John Hayter, Norman Coombes, Marcello Fiasconaro, Kerry Jordan, Maria Bosworth, Shelagh Holliday, Peter Tobin, Penny Jackson, Bart Ceccon, Edward Davies, Gillian Garlick, Richard Knibbs, Lorraine Lithgow, Julian Osieki and Kevin Basel.

Released in South Africa on 27 March 1972, thereafter in the UK (4 November 1973), Spain (11 February 1974), USA (May 1974), Colombia (25 August 1976) and USA (January 1980)
