My Friend, The Prince is a play by J.H. McCarthy (Justin Huntley McCarthy, 1859-1936)[1].

The original text

First performed at Prince's Theatre in Manchester in 1897 under the management of Robert Courtneidge (1859–1939)[2].

Performance history in South Africa

1898: Performed on in South Africa by a company under the management of the Wheeler Brothers, as part of a repertoire that also included The Tree of Knowledge (Carton), Secret Service (Gilette) and A Marriage of Convenience (Dumas/Grundy). The company included George Hippisley, Wilton Heriot, Jessie Bateman, Mabel Lane and Sallie Booth.
