Mtutuzeli Matshoba (born 1950). Writer.

Biography

He hails from Soweto and was educated at Lovedale and Fort Hare, where he met Steve Biko and other founder members of the Black Consciousness Movement and was influenced by them.

Career

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

He wrote the plays Seeds of War, The Devil's Payoff.

Awards, etc

He won the Thomas Pringle Award (filed as English Academy Awards) in 1981 for two pieces of creative writing published in Staffrider.
