Mr Tilley (fl. 1860-1870s) was a hotelier and venue manager in Cape Town.

Biography

He appears to have been involved with (probably managed) The Round House Hotel in Cape Town in the mid to late 1860s, where he organized an annual "Fancy Fair and Fête" on New Year's day.

F.C.L. Bosman (1980: p.274) mentions at least one of these events, which took place on New Year's day of 1868, when an unnamed company of Amateur Christy's troupe and similarly unnamed "Dutch Theatrical Company" performed there.
