He and his wife were members of the the the semi-professional company of W.F.H. Parker in Cape Town. Roles in and worked on among others, The King's Command and Damp Beds (20 August, 1847) In 1848 he worked with the French company of Dalle Case (Sans Souci Theatre) as a singer (under his real name of Mr Russel).
