Bosman]] (1980: p. 271) mentions performances by the [[Amateur Dramatic and Christy Minstrels Company]] and the [[Young Men's Dramatic Company]] in 1867, their evenings including renditions of ''[[Love in Humble Life]]'' (Scribe and Dupin), ''[[The Turned Head]]'' (Buckstone),  ''[[Ben Bolt]]'' (Johnstone) and  ''[[A Shilling Day at the (Great) Exhibition]]'' (Halliday and Brough).
