Mr Boonzaier (18**-18**) is mentioned as a member of the Dutch society Tot Nut en Vermaak in Cape Town between 1843 and 1857.

Besides Boonzaier, the surname is also spelled in various other ways by F.C.L. Bosman, including Boonzaayer and Boonzaaier.

He may also have been the ballet master W. Boonzaayer (or W. Boonzaaier) mentioned by F.C.L. Bosman (1928: p. 247) as working with C.E. Boniface on a production of Frederik de Groote te Spandau, of Het Lasterschrift (Dorvo) and Meester Vink, of De Vermiste Diamant (Desaugiers and Gentil) on 2 August 1834.
