Mr Beck (18**-18**) was a musical director for the company Tot Nut en Vermaak in Cape Town in the 1830s. (Referred to as "De Heer Beck" , i.e. "the gentleman Beck", by a correspondent cited by Bosman, 1928: p. 246).
