Mr Banfather (fl. mid 19th century) was a British military officer in the 99th Regiment (Lanarkshire), and an amateur performer.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

While stationed in Cape Town in the years 1868-1869, he helped out with performances of the Lanarkshire Dramatic Club, specifically mentioned by F.C.L. Bosman (1980, p. 265) in respect of the 1869 production of Villikins and his Dinah.
