(17**-18**) A pioneering ballet master in the Cape Town between 1802 and 18**. Besides choreographing the dances for some productions, including productions by [[C.E. Boniface]], he also put on ballets, presented by his pupils, which formed an integral part of the theatre in the Cape for quite a few years. The first, entitled ''[[The Cunning Wife, or The Lover in the Sack]]'', formed part a programme presented in celebration of the King's birthday on 28 June, 1802.
