-DELEMERY, Monsieur. Possibly a professional actor who, on his way to Mauritius or the East, stopped at the Cape to perform on two occasions. The first mention is 29 October 1803, then again in 1804, when he did a number of shows. Apparently versatile he would play two or three roles a night. On 12 August 1804 he did the clown in ''[[Arlequin Protege par Belphegor]]'' at the [[African Theatre]].  (See Bosman, 1928; Fletcher, 1994)

He appears to have been greatly admired, and productions in which he featured could command far higher admission-prices than normal.
