Miss Hook of Holland

Miss Hook of Holland is a musical comedy in two acts by Paul Alfred Rubens (1875-1917)[1] and Austen Hurgon (1867-1942)[2].

The original text

Styled a "Dutch Musical Incident", it was first produced at the Prince of Wales Theatre on 31 January 1907, running for a very successful 462 performances and at the Criterion Theatre, Broadway 31 December, 1907 (119 performances). Also played at Prince’s Theatre, Bristol (1912 – 1913).

Performance history in South Africa

1909: Produced for the first time in South Africa by the Wheeler Brothers in the first quarter of the year, with a cast that included Maud Aston (as "Sally"), Foster Courtenay ("Mr Hook") and Alfred Beers ("Slinks").
