DE BRUYN, Miems (1922-2010) Actress. * Studied at the University of Stellenbosch, was an actress her whole life. Married to * and had 4 daughters. * Her stage career included **. Became famous as the character “Tant Kriekie” in the first Afrikaans TV sit-com ''Nommer Asseblief'' (“Number Please” – first broadcast in 1979 and well into the early 1980s.  Her performances include many other TV and film appearances (*) and she was still working late in her 80s. Her last appearance was in ''Sewende Laan'' (“Seventh Avenue”) and she was working on ''Villa Rosa'' when she fell ill.
