The Middelburg Cultural Society, Middelburg, Cape Province (Middelburgse Kultuurvereniging in Afrikaans) was founded in 19** by **.

In 1922 Danie Olivier joined the society, and contributed greatly to their activities. He promoted religious music, produced a number of operettas, and over the years till its demise in 1927, directed a number of plays for them. These included many plays in Afrikaans, such as Faro, Die Silwere Rand, Piet se Tante, Die Watersaak, Die Bad-Gaste, 'n Ondankbare Kind, and Van Riet van Rietfontein.
