Biography

Training

Graduated from Trinity College of Music, London.

Career

Since graduating he has been connected with television, repertory theatre and televison in Britain. As a professor and examiner for Trinity College he travelled the world, including a visit to South Africa in 1965. In February 1966 he took up an appointment as Senior Lecturer in Music at the University of Cape Town.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

He was involved as musical adviser, director or as composer in productions such as The Real Inspector Hound, Arcadia, Cardenio, Beecham, Henry V, The Merchant of Venice, Romeo and Juliet, The Tempest, Twelfth Night, Broken Glass, Dear Antoine, Once Upon a Mattress, Candide, Peer Gynt, Travesties, The Royal Hunt of the Sun, Play Strindberg, Love's Labour's Lost, Police.
