Premièred by the Universiteitsteater Stellenbosch in the H.B. Thom Theatre in September 1980, directed by Herman Pretorius, with Dup du Plessis (MC), Hélène Truter (his Spouse) and Koba Wicomb, Jeannine Wolhuter, Johan Rademan, Gaynor Calitz, Jannie Hofmeyr, Edie Henn, June van Merch, Herman Binge, Randall Wicomb, Anton Smith, Niel le Roux, Davida Day, Theresa Marais, Sharon Theron, Johann van Heerden, Kobus Hanekom and Pamela Moag. Orchestra led by Koba Wicomb, choreography by Esther Nasser, costumes by Elaine Aucamp, lighting by Emile Aucamp.
A professional production, directed by Janice Honeyman and featuring Laurika Rauch, Amanda Strydom, Bill Curry, and Graham Clarke, Gerben Kamper, Sam Marais, Rina Nienaber, Annelise van der Ryst and musician Clarabelle van Niekerk was first produced at the Market Theatre (as the opening production of the venue The Market Kabaret) and at the Oude Libertas Theatre in 1981.
