Mercedes Molina was the stage name of Mersyne Mavros (1934-1978), a South African dancer. Born of Greek parents in Brakpan, Transvaal, she gained international renown as a Spanish Dancer and founded a Spanish Dance Society in South Africa. She formed a legendary partnership with Engrique Segovia (Geoffrey Nieman). Her professional debut was as performer in Bill Brewer's Christmas Pantomime Little Red Riding Hood at the Hofmeyr Theatre, Cape Town in 1948.
