Meester ("Master") is the title for both an Afrikaans stage play (1927 ) and an SABC by Afrikaans TV series (1991)


Meester The stage play (1927)

Meester is stage play in four acts by D.F. Malherbe (1881-1969). About a travelling Dutch teacher in a rural area who falls in love. First published Nasionale Pers, 1927.

1929: Produced production by the GUK Dramatic Society, Bloemfontein, directed by D.F. Malherbe, with himself Benedictus Kok and Bram Fischer in the cast.

''Meester'' is a TV series in 10 episodes of 60min. each, written by Paul C. Venter. Directed by Annie Basson, with Hannes Müller, Susan Coetzer, Eric Nobbs, Danny Keogh, Tess van Staden, Lida Botha, Johan Botha, Elize Cawood, Wilson Dunster, Nico Liebenberg, Neil Sandilands, Rochelle Spies and Gilbert Terblanché. Broadcast in 1992, it won the SABC prize for TV dramas.
