Max Weinbrenn was a violin teacher.

Biography and Education

Born in Anist, Lithuania, and educated at The Conservatoire of Music, Warsaw, Poland. He was awarded his Professor of Music Diploma from the Royal Conservatoire of Music, Warsaw.

General career

Weinbrenn came to South Africa in 1897 and married Rae (maiden name unknown) in 1904. The couple settled in Berea, Johannesburg. He was the principal of the Max Weinbrenn Academy of Music in Johannesburg. He taught violin and his pupils won many overseas scholarships and gold medals.
