New page

Founded in 1989 it is a community theatre group founded by Matthews Nontyi and Gray Kesheni. Working with original scripts focusing on topics of social relevance, the group presented Mayibuye by Matthews Nontyi at the Grahamstown National Arts Festival in 1989 and Safika! by Gray Kesheni, also at the Festival, in 1994. Both of these plays travelled regionally. The company is also a dance troupe and works within traditional and contemporary dance styles. Numbers of the group have collaborated with Rhodes University Drama Department projects and Andrew Buckland's Mouthpeace Theatre
