Martin Middeke (1963-) is a German academic and specialist in English literature and cultural theory.

Biography

Between 1985 and 1990 he studied English, German, Philosophy and Education at the University of Paderborn and the University of Reading, England.

He is the co-editor, with Peter Paul Schnierer, of the The Methuen Drama Guide series.

Contribution to South African theatre, film, media and performance

He was a visiting professor at the University of Johannesburg in 2008 und 2009 and has been a Extraordinary Professor there since 2010.

His publications on South African drama include The Methuen Drama Guide to Contemporary South African Theatre, (edited with Peter Paul Schnierer and Greg Homann). Published by Bloomsbury Publishing, London in 2015.
