Marlene Kotzen (19**-) was a speech teacher, lecturer, actress and director.

Taught English speech and acting at the University of the Orange Free State from 1967*? To 19**.

Performed in and directed plays for the Bloemfontein Repertory Society and the Bloemfontein Shakespeare Circle (of which she was also at one time Chairperson).

Also performed in and directed for PACOFS (***, ***)

She directed Playing with Fire (1967/8), Macbeth (1970s), A Midsummer Night's Dream (1970s), Twelfth Night (1980) and acted in Richard III (1967).
