(1912-1988) Editor, journalist, radio dramatist and manager of a theatrical company called ***???. At various times worked for the Cape Argus, The Star and The South African Tatler. Collaborated with Nicholas Monsarrat in the adaptation of The Cruel Sea for radio and adapted Francis Brett Young’s City of Gold for Johannesburg’s 70th birthday celebrations. Researched and wrote Born to Act, a biography of actress Freda Godfrey (Ad Donker, 1979). Also well known as the author of As We Were. South Africa 1939-1941. (Johannesburg: Keartland, 1974)
