Margaretha van Hulsteyn

(1897-1970) South African born actress and director. (Her name also spelled Margueretha van Hulsteyn or Martha van Hulsteyn by some sources.)

In the war period (1914-1818) she originally performed for Stephen Black under her nickname of Scrappy van Hulsteyn, then briefly for Leonard Rayne under this name (1914-1818), but whne she reached England in 1919, she adopted the stage name of Marda Vanne which she used for the rest of her career, though best known to friends as "Scrappy".
