by German playwright Manfred Karge. Originally Jacke Wie Hose. A one-woman show about a woman who takes over her deceased husband's identity during the economic disaster of the Weimar period in Germany. She takes over his identity to make a living as a crane-operator at the factory where he used to work. The South African production of Man to Man was directed by Marthinus Basson and starred Antoinette Kellermann as Ella and Max Gericke. The production premiered at the Woordfees '10 in Stellenbosch in Afrikaans as As die Broek Pas and went on to run at the KKNK '10. Willem Anker translated the play into Afrikaans. The English version Man to Man, premiered at The National Arts Festival '10 in Grahamstown. Both the Afrikaans and English productions ran at The Fugard Theatre in Cape Town Aug./Sept. '10.
