A full-length contemporary South African farce of mistaken identities, the play won Morris the 1986 Amstel Playwright of the Year Award.

Adapted to a post apartheid setting as Maid in the New South Africa in 1996.

Performance history in South Africa

1987: First produced by NAPAC in the Playhouse Loft in 1987, directed by Rex Garner.

1994: Staged in by Technikon Pretoria in the Breytenbach Theatre, directed by Henry Mylne.

1996: Performed at the Playhouse in its adapted form under the title Maid in the New South Africa, directed by Ralph Lawson
