SOBOIL, Maggie (Margaret) (1944- ) is a South African-born American actress, satirist, voice artist and producer. * At The Space in the 1970s she performed in Fallen Angels, Luv, Ooh! La-La and Maggie Soboil / Merton Barrow (a cabaret). * SOBOIL, Maggie. She starred in Louis Burke’s production of The Beggar’s Opera which opened in Cape Town in 1965, and then in Johannesburg in 1966. It also starred David Holliday, Louis Burke, Joan Brickhill and Frank Lazarus. She soon teamed up with Frank Lazarus as a revue partnership, performing across the world before she settled in the States. She starred in Leonard Schach’s production of Shaw’s Heartbreak House for PACT at the Alexander in 1967. It also starred Siegfried Mynhardt, Alec Bell, Elizabeth Meyer, Kerry Jordan, François Swart, Frank Lazarus and Joan Blake.
