Madge Saunders, a Johannesburg-born actress who left South Africa in 1914 for a stage career in London. She played leading parts at the Gaiety Theatre, e.g. June in Tonight's the Night and as Lady Pansy in Theodore and Co., the latter being produced at His Majesty's Theatre in Johannesburg in 1917.
