Macready! is a one man play by Frank Barrie (1936-)[1].

Also found without the excalamation, as Macready, in some sources.

The original text

Based on the diaries of the 19th Century actor William Charles Macready (1793-1873), and written and performed by Frank Barrie. The play opened in New York in 1980, then transferred to the West End in 1981. Barrie subsequently toured to 67 countries with the play during the 1980s.

South African productions

1984: Performed at the 1984 National Arts Festival by Frank Barrie, presented by Brian Charteris and Giles Daubeny. Also played at the Baxter Concert Hall, Cape Town, Little Abbey Theatre, Durban and Intimate Theatre, Johannesburg.
