M. Cassiem D'Arcy. (born 1940) Playwright.


Biography

He was born in 1940 in Brown Street in District Six.

Training

Career

He graduated with a degree in medicine from UCT before specialising in pathology in Canada and the United States. He returned to South Africa in 1969 and operated a general practice for 30 years.

Besides his academic pursuits, he has published three novels for young adults and writes a monthly arts column for Muslim Views.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

Writer of The Red Disa (Artscape, 2005).
