Lynita Crofford (born circa 1960) Actress.

Biography

Training

She graduated with a B. Dram from University of Pretoria, 1981.

Career

Lynta joined CAPAB in 1982 for three years after which she moved to Johannesburg and began freelancing.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

She was seen in Op Hoop van Seën, Laat-Februarie 1922, The Lulu Sex Tragedies, Razumov, Women Behind Bars, Ek, Anna van Wyk, The Gingerbread Man, Die Wildsboudjie between 1982 and 1985.

Other productions include Perfect Wedding (2011), Die Proponentjie ("Grote Griet"), Sweepslag ("Journalist") Out of the Box Festival, Lie of the Mind ("Lorraine", Play Reading; Baxter Theatre}, Happy Endings are Extra ("Chantalle", Grahamstown Festival), Caught in the Net ("Mary", directed by Rex Garner), Giants ("Queen Nosizwe", directed by Warwick Grier}, Oscar in Afrika ("Deirdre", Aardklop 1999), The SA UFO Crash ("Scully" 1999), Plastics ("Hester"), Kennedy's Children ("Rona"}, Karnaval ("Andrea"), Paradise is Closing Down ("Anna"), Boeing Boeing ("French Hostess"), The Cocktail Hour ("Nina"), An Audience with Miss Hobhouse, Violet Online (2015).

Television productions include The Merchant of Venice, Final Edition, Valley Children and Cul de Sac. Feature films include Brutal Glory, The Wedding and Killmasters.

Awards, etc

She was nomiated for a Fleur du Cap Award, Best Actress in a cabaret/revue for her role in An Audience with Miss Hobhouse.
