Career

Quoted from the programme of Snake Beneath the Rose in 1986: 'Lynette started dance training at the age of 11 in Rhodesia (Zimbabwe). She trained with Valerie Mainwright and Mercia Hetherington. She passed her advanced ballet exams and danced with the National Ballet of Rhodesia in such ballets as Swan Lake, Coppelia, Les Sylphides, Sleeping Beauty and The Firebird. Lynette, who has also danced in pantomimes and musicals, came to South Africa in 1982 and studied at the UCT Ballet School for 3 years. While at UCT she danced in CAPAB's productions of The Nutcracker and Spartacus. Last year she danced in CAPAB Opera's production of Aida, and played Little Eva in The King and I for PACT. She is currently a freelance teacher and dancer.'
