(1928 – 2007), known professionally as Lucky Grills was an Australian actor and comedian.


Biography

Born Leo Grills in Hobart, Tasmania. Initally worked as a stand up comic in the Sydney clubs, then became a household name in Australia when he played the title role of unconventional detective "Bluey" Hills in the television series Bluey in 1976.


His contribution to South African theatre

He was brought to South Africa in 1970 by African Consolidated Theatres to star in the revue the All-New, Non-Stop Minstrel Scandals (Brickhill-Burke).
